The painting was inspired by my time in Germany as well as my art collective, Finch & Foxglove. It depicts a yellow bird, somewhat inspired by the long-tailed flycatchers, but it's really a fantasy bird. The decorative elements surrounding the bird were inspired by all the beautiful hand-painted furniture and staircases I would see during my life in Germany.
