We Need Diverse Books Day

April 3

Join me in celebrating the first ever We Need Diverse Books Day on April 3rd where we'll be encouraging readers across the country to read a diverse book.

People can request a diverse book at their library or buy it from their indie bookstore. We also invite folks to share their book pick on social media using the hashtag #WeNeedDiverseBooksDay. For every $10 donated to WNDB, they will provide a book to a student at an under-resourced school.

WNDB is also committing to donating 10,000 diverse titles to under-resourced schools and libraries in 2025. USA TODAY exclusively announced WNDB Day!

FREE Mini Virtual Visit

Let's do a virtual storytime or Q&A! Teachers who are already using my book in the classroom are eligible for a free 15-minute Storytime where I read aloud to the students and then we have a 5 minute Q&A session about one of my books. This can be conducted in English, Spanish, or both.
